Monkeytown was founded in 2009 by fashion editor, originally to release their own records and the music of friends. It soon became more. The label and its offshoot 50Weapons developed into an influential place where the various strands of dance and bass music could come together and thus the scenes between London and Berlin. Monkeytown Acts stands for electronic music of all kinds, for experimental and club-focused approaches and everything in between. The compilation brings together first-rate label artists such as Siriusmo and Anstam with younger members of the family such as Catnapp and FJAAK. A small world premiere is the first collaboration between Catnapp and Otto von Schirach, a dream couple united in Weirdness. The tracks celebrate the label and its mission: the search for new sounds and hits. In addition to great releases, the highest honor for each label is to have their own sound.
