At the time of their first two albums – 1977‘sIn The Cityand 1978’sThis Is The Modern World– Paul Weller, Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler were frequent guests at radio sessions organized by the British public radio station. This album collects 16 performances from the period, with five tracks from the debut album, six from the successor, A-sides (‘All Around The World’, ‘News Of The World’, ‘’A‘ Bomb In Wardour Street’) and B-sides (‘Carnaby Street’) of singles and a sneak peek from the follow-up ‘All Mod Cons’ (‘Billy Hunt’). Incendiary performances in a style that combined punk and contemporary new wave with 60s mod beat with strong reminiscences of The Who and The Kinks, while Weller’s songwriting talent was already bearing ripe fruit.
